Herr Doktor and I were blown away by the pair of SalesGenie.com ads that ran during the Super Bowl yesterday because they were so awesomely racist. Oh, not that we give two shits (separately or collectively – would that be a total of four shits?) if they want to totally mock Asians and Indians (dots, not feathers) with caricatures…we can’t believe that somebody thought it would be a good idea, and that it got not only as far as completion, but that it aired in one of the most expensive time slots ever.
My response to the commercials is that ones that are patently stupid and unoriginal actually cause me to go out of my way to avoid the products. This is pretty easy when you look at the sheer magnitude of Budweiser commercials, and SalesGenie.com is no exception. But targeted business to business ads can’t afford to be so blatantly narrow-minded in their conception. Any dickhead can be swayed to pop a cold one with the right suggestion (C-cup or larger), but committing business resources and spending corporate dollars is not a light-hearted endeavor. And it doesn’t speak well of the company if that’s the ad they’re running – the famous George Lauren said that in business, perception is reality. Then again, he managed a California Pizza Kitchen…

we were all thinking the same thing. my sis and i gave each other the wtf look after seeing it. we were also wondering htf they rounded up enough money to even get the spots. i'm not about to look into it though. i'm letting it die right here. you shouldn't have even made this post in the first place. sometimes it's better not to draw attention to shite. i think this is one of those cases.
When I joined IBCP 642 (that's International Bloggers - Commenters & Posters Union), I took a vow to write about whatever union assignments I was given. Sure, it was better in the guild days, but I had to cover it - like my brethren on their sites. Besides racism is bad and we should identify it...fucking racist pandas!
