Sheefeater

England finally has a female Yeoman Ward.

Moira Cameron, 42, is the first female Beefeater since the guards began duty in 1485. The position requires 22 years in the Forces to become eligible for the post. Cameron spent the past two months undergoing intensive training to learn the 21 separate duties the Beefeaters perform each day, including the Ceremony of the Keys. Other duties involve giving visitors a guided tour and making sure the Crown Jewels are kept safe.

The nickname Beefeaters is thought to derive from the daily ration of meat they received. That, or their aggressive homosexual tendencies.
