All Our Base Are Belong To Them

In movies, everyone from teenagers to international terrorists can get in easier than a girl at a frat party, but back in reality, China's military managed the task of successfully hacking into the Pentagon's computer network, according to the Tuesday edition of the Financial Times.

The Chinese military's cyber attack was carried out in June following months of efforts, the London-based newspaper said, citing unnamed current and former US officials.

While the Pentagon declined to say who was behind the hacking, or better, disclose that the event occurred, intelligence points to China's People's Liberation Army. The paper said both the US and Chinese militaries were widely assumed to conduct computer espionage on each other. Reports of China hacking into German government systems were also raised last week at a meeting between the Chinese Premier and the visiting German Chancellor.

When foreign newspapers are running stories ahead of your government and media then they are probably true. It's no surprise they got into our system, considering the numerous government laptops that have been lost over the years as well as the human element of spies and agents, but why don't we hear stories from other governments alleging their own breaches and espionage? The Russians and Cubans would point at the U.S. all the time to bring our shady moves into the light in order to embarrass us, and at least the public knew we we doing the things our government would deny. So is it just assumed we're tapped in to everybody or are we not as good at getting into everyone else's infrastructure?

One thing is for sure, we need not worry about China's breach - the worst they can do at the moment is get lead on our Pentagon computers, resulting in a recall.
