Looks like they need to get a Newer Bohemian.Jeffrey Carter Albrecht, keyboard player for the band Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, was shot to death early Monday while trying to kick in the door of his girlfriend's neighbor, police said.
Believing a burglar was trying to break in, the neighbor fired a shot through the door around 4 a.m., killing Albrecht at the scene. It was not clear why Albrecht went to the house and no arrests have been made as the case is still being investigated.
While local musicians and friends all peg Albrecht as a soft spoken, non-violent person, nobody said anything about him being stupid. Because you just don't start practicing karate kicks on your girlfriend's neighbor's door in the middle of the night without getting shot. That's, like, common knowledge or something.
