0:59 Or So To Go

Dumber than dirt Jessica Simpson continues to wind down what she calls a career, working her "celebrity" magic on yet another product.

As spokeswoman for Stampede Light Plus, made by Dallas' Stampede Brewing Co, Simpson will appear in ads in stores for the beer and is taking a 15% stake in the brewer. The Dallas Morning News says terms were not disclosed, but if you read between the dense subtext, you'll see that she gets 15% of the company. Everything in Texas may be big, but must it also be dumb?

Simpson is the now face of the brand according to Stampede's president and chief executive, and as an entrepreneur she's "always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people." Wow, she skipped right over county fair appearances to shill a local brewery. To fail at reinvention as a country artist, that takes a special kind of no-talent. And when they say she'll be appearing in ads in the store, we're not talking cardboard cut out, she'll be in the store.

By the way,
Stampede Light bills itself as a beer for active people. Y'know, the way Taco Bell bills itself as cuisine for computer savvy people.
