Did there really need to be four Twilight books? Or how about seven Harry Potter tales? What of Dick Francis and his endless (42 and counting) stories of horse racing crime fiction? Clearly, some writers have to go back to the well. But not these guys!
Dapper Dan, aka Scartoe and I are re-teaming for His Words - Not Mine, SEASON 2!
Six weeks from today, we will continue the tradition of aggrandized storytelling, one chapter at a time, trading hands every week until complete half a year later. The newest story starts June 1, and to shake it up (by winning the choice by coin toss), Scartoe has elected to write the first chapter in our new serial, as well as gain naming rights. I will close the book, and have provided a general theme / concept behind the missive.
While I think we're both more comfortable with the process and have learned to play off each other's chapters, I think this year's entry will be much more difficult for us. As is in our rules, we can not and do not discuss any ideas about what we are planning to write, explain character histories or motivations, or share plot threads. It's chapter after chapter being volleyed back and forth until the book is finished.
In the meantime, you can take a look at Halcyon, our first indictment of the English language.
