Thanks to Brett for reminding me that San Diego has some pro sports franchises, by forwarding the allegations against San Diego Chargers star outside linebacker Shawn MerrimanMerriman says in a statement yesterday that he was worried for the safety of fame-seeking reality tv whore Tila Tequila because she appeared to be intoxicated and he didn't want her to drive. She accuses Merriman of choking and restraining her.
The footballer adds that paramedics who were called to his home reported no injuries to Tequila, best known for spreading STDs on her dating show that lasted two seasons on MTV. Merriman was arrested early Sunday when Tequila signed a citizen's arrest warrant charging him with battery and false imprisonment. Both are felonies.
We all know that pro athletes are mostly felons and hoodlums, but this is Tila Tequila. If anybody on this Earth deserves to be choked, battered, and restrained it's her. I'd have also been thrilled with a drunk driving crash turning that rotten fruit into a vegetable, but she could have actually hurt somebody important if he didn't keep her off the road. Merriman - not guilty!
