The upcoming Entertainment Weekly has a first look at the Star Trek prequel / reboot, and Film Drunk is less than impressed at the photos.I’m disappointed, but I don’t really know why. I guess I assumed a space captain would be a guy who could buy space beer with out getting space carded. But they look pretty much exactly how you’d expect from pictures of Star Trek as envisioned by the producer of Lost. With the possible exception of Eric Bana as Nero, they all have that cheesy TV look, with the glamour shots lighting and the I’ve-been-stranded-on-an-island-for-months-but-still-have-a-waxed-chest-and-designer-jeans feel to them.
I guess the casting is okay (like Shaun Of The Dead as Scotty and Harold as Mr. Sulu), but how am I supposed to think of Spock when it's clearly Sylar from Heroes?
