The High Cost Of Pitbull Lipstick

Last week the nation was shocked to find out that over $150,00 was spent on wardrobe for Sarah Palin. Will anybody be shocked to know that the Republican campaign spent more on her stylists than they did on a foreign policy advisor?

Amy Strozzi, who works on "So You Think You Can Dance" has been Palin's traveling stylist, and was paid $22,800, according to campaign finance reports for the first two weeks in October. In frightening contrast, McCain's foreign policy adviser, Randy Scheunemann, was paid $12,500. Never mind what to do overseas, just have your incompitent second look sharp!

McCain's campaign said the payment covered a portion of her work in September and a portion of October. An earlier campaign finance report showed Strozzi was paid $13,200 for a portion of September. This doesn't help kill the furor over how the campaign spent their money. Bear in mind that the $150,000 was spent in September on wardrobe and cosmetics after Palin joined the GOP ticket.

Unaware she wasn't helping, Palin said that of the clothes bought, most have not left her campaign plane. Nice. She charged that the clothes were not worth $150,000 (perhaps not, but if that's what you paid for them...) and also said her family shops frugally - which doesn't mean anything. "Those clothes are not my property. We had three days of using clothes that the RNC purchased," Palin told in an interview yesterday. There was no evidence of additional clothing purchases in the most recent reports.

The Obama campaign has said it paid for hair and makeup costs associated with interviews or events, but neither the campaign nor the Democratic National Committee has paid for clothing.
