There's plenty on my mind, but this weekend is really about the home-and-home series for my Los Angeles Kings and our mid-state division rival San Jose Sharks. Since we're one of the last teams to start the season, we're ranked 7th in the Western Conference, and I don't know if we'll get above that the rest of the season, but I'm hoping for a win at home opening night and at the very least a split to start the season at .500 - is that too much to ask?UPDATE: Let's just say it was too much. Much improved play in the second game but the stinging opening loss at home and a goal-less effort made it even harder to take. 0-2 thus far...ouch.
