Delicious for astronauts, but deadly for air travellers?
Tang Bombs are powerful explosives made out of Tang mixed with hydrogen peroxide. The orange-flavored drink mix popularized by NASA for use in space flights, contains citric acid, which reacts violently when it's combined with peroxide. Apparently, a plastic bottle-sized contraption can blow a hole in an airplane when triggered by a disposable flash camera. At least that's what British authorities are saying in the trial of suspects caught in an August 2006 plot. The suspects planned to use Tang Bombs to take down 7 airplanes sometime between August and December of 2006, which would've killed almost 2,000 people and certainly ruined breakfast.
