Going over fairly big at T's Pachyderm d'Blanco was the Banksy book I brought. In fact, I'm going back to Giant Robot to get myself a copy, because his art rules.
In contrast to the very public display of his unique graffiti / stencil work, his real identity has been kept hidden and very few pictures exist of him. Both political and anti-corporate in his work, Banksy also has satirical and pop-cultural elements in his art. Much like Shepard Fairey and his OBEY campaign of underground art captured the hearts of the art world, so has Banksy. But will we eventually see his design emblazoned clothing in Nordstom like Fairey? Only time will tell...

"The time of getting fame for you name on its own is over. Artwork that is only about wanting to be famous will never make you famous. Any fame is a by-product of making something that means something. You don't go to a restaurant and order a meal because you want to have a shit."
