A soldier who stole the gun and credit card details of Israel's military chief was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment. They're so badass they can't stand up to themselves!
Military police said Lewis Maskota used his mobile phone to take pictures of a credit card belonging to Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi in August, and then gave them to weapons dealers, who used the data to make purchases. Way to stick it to the man! The soldier also admitted to stealing Ashkenazi's gun from his office and selling it to criminals. His explanation was that he was caught up in debt and was under great financial pressure at the time, which is a great reason to border on treason and gross insubordination.
Maskota, who served occasionally as a security guard in Ashkenazi's office, was demoted from corporal to private. The event called into question level of security around Israel's top general, who should be fine, as all Israeli generals are bulletproof because they eat bullets for breakfast (it's kosher).
