Immitation is the sincerest form of trying to make a buck...Less than two weeks before the Kenneth Branagh directed Thor appears in theaters hits, famed crapmeisters (previous posts here and here) The Asylum will be releasing their own direct-to-DVD mockbuster, featuring the blinding starpower of Richard Grieco (!) as Loki and Cody Deal (sounds like a name of a porn actor - a gay porn actor) as Thor. The same Cody Deal who was Strip Club Patron, Egypitian Guard, Roman Soldier at Caesar’s Palace (all uncredited)? Uh, yeah.
I'm sure the skilled directing of Chris Ray, who helmed Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus, will adequately steer sink this ship. But the talent doesn't stop there! It was written by Eric Forsberg, (incorrectly listed as Erik Estenberg on the official website - oops, his Jewish real name), the scribe behind the awful Mega Piranha, 30000 Leagues Under The Sea (which I should point out is technically impossible), Snakes On A Train, and War Of The Worlds 2: The Next Wave.
So what exactly happens in Almighty Thor? "When the demon god Loki destroys the fortress of Valhalla and steals the Hammer of Invincibility, only the young hero Thor can protect Earth from armageddon ." Sure. The only thing Richard Grieco is capable of stealing these days is a part in a low-budget film...success!
