Scarlett and I saw the revamped, reimagining of Star Trek last night...
Like the franchise or not, it's a solid film, and I can't see anyone finding a better popcorn flick to start off the summer movie run. Equal parts reintroduction and revision, the film balances being fresh and compfortable - sounds like an insole or pantyliner, right? I'm not one of those Abrams-o-philes who dotes on his every work, but he certainly earns my respect for tackling a series that has high expectations on it. While not as radical as the Battlestar Galactica reboot, it's still a great example of breathing fresh air into a stagnant property.
Hell, you can even take your mother and she'd enjoy it. It is her weekend too...
