Party's Over

Party Down, the critically lauded and little-watched Starz sitcom (that held the most underrated comedy on TV spot after It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia cracked the mainstream) about Los Angeles caterers with Hollywood dreams won't be around for you to latch onto - the show will not be getting a third season.

It’s too bad, but not a surprise: Jane Lynch left after one season for a bigger role on Glee, while Adam Scott’s new role on Parks And Recreation would limit him to three episodes of a third season. Lizzy Caplan has a growing feature career along with Ken Marino, and Martin Starr has been part of the Judd Apatow family of projects since Freaks And Geeks.

Starz said, “After careful consideration, we’ve decided not to continue on with subsequent seasons of Party Down and Gravity...we’re grateful to everyone involved in the shows, and are proud to have had them on the channel. Starz remains committed to aggressively expanding our original programming lineup.”

What the hell is Gravity? Was that actually a show? I think they should have committed to expanding their quality programing lineup, not just their original one. How great shows like this disappear and Charlie Sheen has a syndicated piece of shot that will air forever is beyond me.
