Disney's Rotting R____

That's for River Country, the abandoned water park in Walt Disney World that's been shuttered for years. But now it could be for Roy E. Disney, who's obit I heard on the radio this afternoon.

Roy was the nephew of Walt, and died from cancer (79). He worked for the company as a writer and producer. But his most important influence was as a Disney shareholder who led two investor revolts. In 1984 he led a successful campaign to oust Walt Disney's son-in-law from the company. Nearly 20 years later, he launched another successful shareholder revolt against Michael Eisner. He is also known for bringing an emphasis back to the theme parks. Well, most of them.
