NHL, You're Welcome

So, there goes the number one seed in the Western Conference and the top finishing team in the league...at the hands of the lowly eighth seed.  It's just gravy that San Jose also got the boot this weekend.

The Kings? Yeah, they are for real.  One game, one round at a time, but this is HUGE.  A decade in the waiting.

It's shameful that Lord Stanley's cup is now a plaything for foreigners.

It has been, since the Canadians last won it in '93...ironically by beating the LA Kings.

Ottawa is still hanging on, but is there room for another 8th seed to upset a number 1? Wouldn't that be something?

Take solace that there's plenty of citizens of the maple leaf playing on the other teams in the mix. Or that they won Olympic gold on home ice in 2010.

But if you want to talk shameful, then look no further than the performance and play of the Canucks . They earned their loss as much as the Kings earned their win.
